EMMA DONALDSON

Sydney born dancer, Emma trained in classical ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance from a young age. 

 

Her dance career took her around Australia, India and Taiwan on numerous corporate and theme park contracts. 

 

She moved to New Zealand in 2008, where she has performed with DKCM Ltd, Brophy Aerials, the Boom Boom Room and the Otago Dancers, dancing and choreographing pieces for various shows and sporting and corporate events such as the Big Night In, Dunedin’s Mid-Winter Carnival, Fringe Festival, Santa Parade, All Blacks and NZ Breakers games.

 

Emma also began teaching dance at Bennett School of Ballet and Jazz where she now teaches classes in musical theatre, jazz, ballet and tap.

2014 marked Emma’s debut into Musical Theatre and she has since choreographed over 20 productions around the Otago and Southland region including Mamma Mia!, Grease - the Arena Spectacular, Mary Poppins, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Wicked and Chicago, to name a few. She also Directed and Choreographed Lion King Jnr in 2023.

 

She has won Best Choreography at the Otago Southland Theatre Awards in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022.
